The 50/50 cotton-wool blend is the sweet spot — warm enough for chilly evenings but not scratchy against my skin like pure wool can be. The bold stripes also look way sharper in person than I expected, so it's staying folded on the armchair instead of hidden in a closet.

I've been using this on the couch every night and the cotton-wool blend keeps me warm without getting sweaty like pure wool does. It's softer than I expected too, though I'll probably hand wash it just to be safe.
